He loves his cereal. We had a hard time deciding if we should start it before six months. Even though they say you shouldn"t, he had reached all of the appropriate milestones. He is just such a hungry little boy. He stopped sleeping through the night and wanted to eat every 2 hours again so I started giving it to him at night and he does awesome. These pics were taken the 3rd time I fed it to him and he was about 4 and a half months. He is 5 and a half months now and I just started feeding it to him in the morning as well.

Well, Dylan is two months old now. I can't believe how fast time flies. We had his pictures taken last Friday and he did so good. They turned out pretty cute! He is such a good baby! I have decided to stay home with him and I am pretty excited. It has been fun! I always thought I would get bored, but have learned quickly. Between taking care of Dylan, cleaning the house, running errands and making dinner, I could never get bored. Being a mom is something you could never describe. It is an amazing feeling to love someone so much and to have them rely on you for everything. I can't believe how fast he is growing. You know the main milestones that a baby will reach before you have one...crawling, walking, talking ect. It is awesome though to see all the little things. Even down to how long his eye lashes have grown and when he starts to recognize your voice. I love this job! It is so rewarding!

My family runs a firework stand every year. This year Dylan has been working with us. He has been making tons of sales. One look at that face and they want to buy the whole the stand! He is such a good baby. It has been so much fun being new parents. We love him so much! He gets cuter by the day. He is gaining weight and his cheeks are getting so chubby. You just want kiss them all day long!

Dylan Jackson Luke was born on May 28Th at 8:42 pm. He weighed 7 lbs 6 ounces. I woke up at 4 in the morning with contractions that were 5 minutes apart. By 4:30, they were 3 minutes apart. At 5 my water started to leak and we headed to the hospital. By 5:30 I was already dilated to a 3. When I was dilated to a 5, I got an epidural and was in heaven. The anticipation was the worst part. The contractions were much worse that the shots in the back. I never thought I would be sleeping during labor, but after the epidural I was completely relaxed. Around 6 pm I was dilated to a 10 and they had me try pushing. There was still a little bit of my cervix left around the edge so I wasn't making much progress. My contractions got weaker and his heart rate was at 190 so it took a while. They had me wait longer and my epidural started to wear off. I didn't mind at first because I wanted to feel myself pushing so it would go faster. But then it wore off too much and the anesthesiologist had to give me another dose at the last minute. I felt a lot at the end and it hurt pretty bad, but I was able to push him out pretty fast. They had me try pushing again around 8 and he was out by 8:42. Over all, it wasn't too bad and I would totally do it all over again. When I finally saw my beautiful little baby boy, it was the most overwhelming feeling of love, joy, and relief. Then I was really tired and had to pass out for a while. I was really nauseous afterwards. When they had me try to get up my hips gave out and I got really lightheaded. I had to lay back down for awhile.
He is the most handsome little baby I have ever seen. He has a ton of hair and my nose. Over all he looks a lot like his dad did when he was born. It has been so exciting and I love being a mom. He had jaundice pretty bad and they sent us home with a Billi blanket (ultra violet light). I had been trying to breast feed, but it wasn't going very well. He was just to tired to get enough milk. They gave him a bottle the first night at the hospital. He hadn't had a poopy diaper in the first 24 hours we were home so we ended up taking him back to the hospital. His jaundice had gotten a lot worse. It went from a 10 to a 15 so I had to start pumping and giving him a bottle. I kept offering him the breast, but the more he had the bottle, the less interested he got in breastfeeding. He got to a point where he would start screaming and pushing away. We were both crying every time I tried so I decided to stop and just bottle feed him breast milk and we have both been a lot happier since. He is growing so fast and we are loving being parents. Brian is so good with him and seeing him as a father is very attractive. It is pretty crazy how fast your life can change. This little baby totally relying on us. It's a great feeling to love someone so much. Iam so excited to watch him grow up and teach him lots of fun stuff!

So I am getting really close now. I am 37 weeks and I can't believe it. I hope he comes soon. I am so miserable. My feet and ankles are so swollen and I can't sleep very well anymore. I have crazy dreams and have to pee at least once every hour. (This has been going on for awhile, but it just gets worse the farther along I am.) I can't wait to see what he looks like. We have everything we need now and are totally ready. We have my hospital bag packed and the car seat installed. We moved into a smaller apartment to save money since I will be on maternity leave and then only coming back to work part time. Today is my last day of work. Part of me is so excited to be done and be able to take naps every day until he comes. The other part of me is worried that I will be bored and will go crazy waiting for the baby. I know I need to just enjoy this time and sleep as much as I can, but it will be weird not working anymore. I really enjoy my job. I like everyone I work with. They have been so nice and supportive. My bosses got me flowers and gift cards to Red Lobster and Sam's Club. The girls also got me flowers, balloons, and made lunch. I am really going to miss my co-workers, but I will be back. I can't wait to be a mom! It will be the best job I could ever have! I am super excited! Trying to find ways to send myself into labor!

My sister, Janae, and I! She planned the shower and it turned out Awesome! We had my favorite foods, Cheese cake with lots of topping options and 7 layer bean dip, YUM!
Dylan got hooked up with tons of really cute stuff!
We played a memory game and a game to see who knew me the best! Kim won the memory game and Tracy won the question game. It was a lot of fun!
We also played "How big is mommy?" My mom cut off a ribbon long enough to go around 3 times. She must think I'm having sixtuplets! It was pretty funny!
It was a really good baby shower! Dylan is getting so big, I can feel him growing at night. The doctor says everything is perfect. I can't wait to meet the little baby growing inside of me! Besides buying a few more things and putting the crib together, we are ready for him to come! I am not even nervous about the labor and delivery anymore, I just want to hurry and get it over with. I can't wait to get to know him and watch him grow!

Brian's birthday was on Saturday! I can't believe he is 26! Joe and I got him a new washburn accoustic guitar. He loves it and so does Dylan. Everytime Brian starts to play I can feel him moving around. We went bowling on Saturday and had a blast. It was weird to get used to my new center of gravity. It makes bowling a little bit harder. It was adult night and everyone was drinking beer so I got some attitude when I asked for a pitcher of water. Especially when I said I only needed one glass! I think Brian had a pretty good birthday! He's grown a lot over the past six years and it has been fun to watch! I love him sooo much!!!

So, we have decided on a name for our baby: Dylan Jackson Luke. I can't believe we only have 3 more months until our little bundle of joy arrives. He is getting bigger by the day and it's starting to freak me out! At our last doctor's appointment, she said everything was perfect. At our next appointment I have to take the glucose test. I hope I don't have diabetes. I know I should be excersising more and eating better. For Valentines day, Brian and I went to TGI Fridays (that's where he proposed to me) and then we went and saw Twighlight for the first time. It was a lot of fun! We are also going to take a trip to Yellowstone at the end of April. We have time shares and we get to stay in the new resort they built there. It will be nice to have a little get away together before our entire lives change. I am just a little worried because I will be 8 months along and I hope I feel up to doing all the fun things there are to do. I am getting super excited for Dylan to come into the world. I really need to get his nursery done, the longer I put it off the harder it will be. I think we are going to decorate in transportation... cars, boats, trains, trucks, ect. It will be so cute and he won't grow out of it as fast as if we did it in say... winnie the pooh or something of the sort. Brian is going to be such a good dad. We haven't even had the first one and he is already talking about how many more we should have. It's awesome to see him so excited! It will be so fun to see Dylan grow up and become a man just like his dad!

On Thursday we had our ultra sound. We are having a boy!!! We are so excited! He was very squirmy and kept sucking his thumb. It was so cute! I am a week farther than they originally thought. They said I was at 21 weeks instead of 20. My due date was June 9th, now it is the same day as our anniversary, June 3rd. After the ultra sound I went shopping and got some really cute clothes. We think we are going to name him Dylan, but we haven't decided on a middle name yet, maybe John. We are so excited to be parents!
